So I was thinking of whether to get an iPad or not. It seems to be one of the coolest gadgets atm.
Here's what i thought after playing around with it in the apple store:
The Hardware
The Good
- It's a beautiful thing to hold in your hands. After spending the better part of a week with it, my iPhone 3G feels almost toy-like.
- The dedicated orientation lock switch on the side is a welcome addition, making the iPad usable while lying down.
- Surprisingly readable in sunlight, but that's not to say it's an ideal device to take to the beach.
- Battery life is the real surprise here - it wipes the floor with any other portable device I've used. We're talking heavy, all day use for anything other than 3D gaming.
- It's incredibly responsive, though HTML rendering is its Achilles' heel.
- Absolutely no fan noise or heat.
- Bluetooth keyboard support.
The Bad
- It's just too heavy to use without holding it with two hands or propping it up on something.
- It's too fragile to throw around like a magazine. You'll want to show it off, but will have trouble turning your back on a clumsy or inebriated friend using it.
- The iPad's pixel density of 132 pixels per inch (ppi) is noticeably less than the iPhone's 163ppi.
- At night, the eyestrain factor is there, regardless of brightness.
- The lack of a USB port is just inexcusable when even Microsoft has just released an update for the Xbox 360 that allows it to store data on commodity USB drives (and you can bet they were making a killing on those proprietary hard drives).
- The built-in speaker is horrible - a real shame.
The iPad ranges from around $500-$900ish, should while this may be a bit pricey. Might as well just get a reasonable laptop.
These are my pick of the Top 5 Greatest Basketball shoes to be created. My ratings are based on the revolution of shoes that the wearers of the shoes made towards street culture and kicks(sneakers) in general, rather then mass appealing generic basketball shoes.
Here are my Top 5:
5. Converse Weapons
One of the first mass production basketball shoe, to offer proper ankle protection. The weapons were most iconic worn by the two biggest players in NBA, in a time before Michael Jordan's era- Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. Both rivals but also greatest of friends off-court.
The weapons were to become one of Converse's best selling shoes, with the ranks of Converse Chuck Taylors.

Vince Cartier's Nike ShoxOne of the most iconic and most memorable dunks of all of the Olympic Games of basketball, or perhaps, one of the top 5 greatest dunks in all of time in international competitions would be the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where Cartier dunked over 7'2 foot French Center 'Wiess'

The nike shox runners now seen are also quite similar to the soles(
blue bit on the shoes) on Carter's Bball shoes
3. Air Max 1 Charles Barkley 180
Nicknamed "Sir Charles" for his aggressive and outspoken demeanor, and "The Round Mound of Rebound" for his unusual build and talent, Barkley established himself as one of the NBA's most dominating p
ower forwards. Sir Charles was part of he1992-93 USA Dream Team, winning gold.
2. Air Jordan 1
The first Air Jordan(Js) shoe to be released, the series, which would eventually turn out to be one of the most successfully series of shoes to be created. This shoe is still one of the most sorta after Js to be sorta after. Shoes such as Nike High dunks and nike SBs structure have been copied from AJ 1. The AJ 1 has now been customised to give similar but different sizes, namely the AJ retros.
1. Air Jordan XI(11)
One of the most sort after Js from the series, with it's great looks and technology at the time. AJ 11 despite varies remixes of the shoe, remains one of the most clean and well respected Js in the series of 23 J. This shoe was featured in the Looney Tunes movie "Space Jam", where Jordan was wearing the 11s.

The
PlayStation 3, one of the top video gaming consoles which is able to render 3D scenery that is close to reality. Then they decided to sell games like the old super street fighter II but "remixed" in
HD! and guess what.....it was a big hit!
Most people who owned a family computer or a Super
Nintendo back in the day would remember this game. It
doesn't take hours of playing and practice to have fun, unlike modern fighting games.
It's being sold on the
PlayStation Network for around 23.00
USD, and i can honestly say its the best 20 bucks
I've spent.

It sucks why do i have to come on Saturday, there's people that want to earn money such as lecturers.

Scientists have found a way to transfer the THC gene from cannabis into common garden plants. They say that THC treated tomatoes are especially more scrumptious, and even better when roasted.
The treated vegetables will also contain all the medicinal properties of the cannabis plant when dried and smoked, and they've learned that tomatoes actually produce more THC than cannabis itself.
The best part of this new product they're developing is that it's completely legal!
KDDI, one of the top phone companies in Japan, has been developing a mobile phone software that monitors every single movement that you do in your workplace.
Using the mobile phone's accelerometer, the software (installed in the mobile) will be able to connect to a server which analyzes the employees movements and the manager can check up on what they are doing at any time. This would seem to be a manager's dream and an employee's nightmare.
So i guess it's time to
say goodbye to office shenanigans and the 30 minute
cigarette breaks.
So if you've played Nintendo's Wii, you would most probably have heard of the Wii Fit, a game with a motion sensing pad, place on the floor, for activities like yoga and balancing. Tho has anyone ever thought of the consequences that could possibly happening if one fell over while playing Wii Fit?
"A woman claims falling from a Wii Fit board turned her into a nymphomaniac. Amanda Flowers told the Daily Star she now needs up to 10 sex sessions a day after damaging a nerve in the fall."
Bizarre much!?? Yeah, exactly!!
I think you should all just read the link, it's quite strange, quite hilarious too.

Matthew Johns signed with rival network Channel Seven and launched a new family-friendly, NRL/entertainment show on Thursday, March 25 at 7:30pm in NSW and Queensland. Former Brisbane Broncos, Queensland and Australian international prop Shane Webcke features in his show as well as former Cronulla Sharks player Jason Stevens.
It is reported that this ratings are killing the footy show. Expect the same antics he had when he was on the footy show but foe the whole hour. New personas are potrayed by Matty such as Don Kirk (parody of Burke's Backyard), Steven the manchild and Alby Sandals.
Yet to appear on the show are old time favourites Reg Reagan and Trent the Flight Stewart.
So i finally got my hands on my new Jaïpur Homme EDT by Boucheron . So I'm just gonna give a my personal verdict on it. Keep in my I'm not perfume expert guys. Here goes
Jaïpur Homme isnt your typical like your mass marketed fragrance like your hugo boss and Calvin Klein, which are generic and mass marketed without indifference and character.
The notes and accords that Jaïpur Homme contain
Top Notes
Heliotrope, Bergamot
Middle Notes
Amber, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Nutmeg
Base Notes
Clove, Tonkd bean
From the first spray, you know this really is some strong juice with quality ingredients. The EDT does feel quite strong at the start but it does me mellow down after 5 mins. The heliotrope is apparent after the first lap down, a bit sharp but still quite fresh. Give about 20-30 mins and you begin to get the middles notes of a creamy vanilla that is just wonderful to scent with a hint of spicy from the cinnamon. Perhaps the creaminess is from the nutmeg, by I dont know, nutmeg is such a Christmas scent that I dont understand properly. While after maybe 2-3 hours, Jaïpur Homme becomes a scent that is closer to the skin, with less projection. Yet by no means is this a poor longevity fragrance, but fragrance that knows when to stop showing off. This is where the tonka beans come in play, gently coming, so when there is a a light breeze, where Jaïpur Homme can still be scented. So at this stage, you may thinking this all sounds too sweet and unmasculine- but no, it really is an elegant fragrance for high classy occasions and events. This EDT is perfect for those special occasions like weddings, anniversaries or even clubbing.

Summary:
A well balanced elegant fragrance for men who care about their appearance and want to be indifferent. The longevity is also quite good at about 6 hours+ on me.
